Kathryn was one of the kindest, gentlest and funniest people I've ever known.

Following her sisters Susan and Patricia into the OTC in 1986 she threw herself into everything with enthusiasm, she was just as happy in the dance team at Northern Lights as she was on yet another comms weekend with the Royal Signals sub unit. And at all times she was educating us in the mysterious vocabulary of Doric. When this sad news broke at the weekend talk among her OTC friends soon turned to futtrets and the like, words we'd not have known without Kathryn. In the late 80s her room in halls was like the cadets mess at lunchtime as she welcomed us all to bring our lunch and disrupt her studies.

After university she headed to the wilds of East Anglia and family life with Kit where they set up their business and raised their family.
